For those of you keeping up with the episodes, you know the last one ended on quite a dramatic note. This chapter opens with some serious gags and the writing is superb. Telltale seem to be getting better and better at this (which is what we were hoping for!). As the chapter starts you are trapped inside a giant manatee and without giving too much away, you encounter some very new and unique characters and we also witness the return of another fan favourite.

This episode we see Telltale Games attempt new and fresh material which actually works out great - especially the 'face-offs' are just hilarious. Face-offs are basically whoever makes the most gruesome facial expression wins. Near the end of episode - Guybrush has to learn a certain language and the way he goes about doing it, again, displays the originality and creativity put into this project.

Lair of the Leviathan gives a few very fresh environments to work with - such as the aforementioned inside of a manatee and at one point - an underwater scene. However, in this episode more than ever, the quantity of environments to explore was seriously lacking. A rough count would be under 10 actual backgrounds to work with and about 3 major settings in total. Length-wise I would say it comes in just a little shorter than episode 2 (which was shorter than episode 1!). Maybe that has to do with the part that there really weren't any mind blowing puzzles this time around - perhaps just one or two places that required you to think a bit, but definitely easier than the previous two episodes.

All in all it is a very solid addition to the continuing tales of Monkey Island and with only two more chapters remaining, we still have our fingers crossed. The ending this time around was very plain - maybe it was hard to match the dramatic height of the previous one as this one paled in comparison. But even then, its not over since once the credits start rolling, another funny thing happens and you are left giggling like a little schoolgirl!
