Ubisoft has just send us a lengthy press release. The important news are as follows:

1) Splinter Cell Conviction has been delayed to April 2010

2) A new Assassin's Creed will be released this fiscal year and it will have an online multiplayer component. This is Ubisoft's fiscal year that ends on April 2011, so the game or episode may not come out in 2010.

3) Although they projected a profit for this fiscal year, they predict this year will end with an operating loss. According to Ubisoft this is because they overestimated the sales of some titles such as Avatar. In addition they are also blaming the contracting Nintendo DS and Wii market. They say they will now re-focus on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Although I really like Ubisoft and want to see them do well, I am happy they will refocus on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
