Gamers in the UK rejoice, as THQ are offering freebies! Anyone who purchases the PC version of upcoming shooter, Metro 2003, in any format in the UK on launch day will be given a complete version of Red Faction Guerilla, last year's sleeper hit, absolutely free!
Although the press release has yet to confirm whether this is a hard copy or a digital download with retail versions, the bundling of such a great game with Metro 2033 shows that THQ really mean business. This offer also applies to pre purchases.
Metro 2033 is a first person shooter based on the acclaimed Dmitri Glukhovsky novel of the same name. Fight your way through the chilling settings of post apocalyptic Moscow, utilising the pre-war subway system and all its harrowing secrets to survive.
Red Faction Guerilla is an open world shooter, utilising a fantastic destruction system as an additional weapon. Fight as part of the resistance, taking on the might of the Martian mining corporations as you and your compatriots struggle to defeat oppression.

Ubisoft has just send us a lengthy press release. The important news are as follows: 1) Splinter Cell Conviction has been delayed to April 2010 2) A new Assassin's Creed will be released this fiscal year and it will have an online multiplayer component. This is Ubisoft's fiscal year that ends on April 2011, so the game or episode may not come out in 2010. 3) Although they projected a profit for this fiscal year, they predict this year will end with an operating loss. According to Ubisoft this is because they overestimated the sales of some titles such as Avatar. In addition they are also blaming the contracting Nintendo DS and Wii market. They say they will now re-focus on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Although I really like Ubisoft and want to see them do well, I am happy they will refocus on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Activision has announced a standalone DJ Hero Turntable and is available for sale from the Guitar Hero Store. Its current price is $70. The game's multiplayer mode allows two DJ Hero turntables to compete against each other. In the one hand, the turntable is an impressive piece of hardware. But on the other, in order for two players to play it would require someone to spend $70 on top of the $130 spend on the original bundle. To put it into perspective, consumers can find a 60GB Xbox 360 for about $200 these days as well. You can find our review of DJ Hero here.

Microsoft has announced and released a special Halo 250GB Xbox 360 bundle that is exclusive for Canada. The price of the bundle is $399 CDN and includes the 250GB Xbox 360 console, two black wireless controllers, a black headset and a copy of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST. The original holiday bundle that includes Pure and Batman and comes with 120GB hard disk currently costs $300. For the extra hundred dollars you are getting an additional 130GB hard disk space, an extra controller and two Halo games instead. But considering Halo ODST consists of the Halo 3 multiplayer, you are only getting 1.5 games instead of 2. But still we are always happy to have more bundles and more options.
