Score: A-

Genre: Action comedy

Advertised as an all out action movie that defies the laws of physics and has a couple of flashy stars. It had all the elements to be one of those disappointing action movies, except it does not. It is actually really good.

Despite having Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, it is James McAvoy that steals the show. It is not the case that Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie do not give a good performance; it is just that McAvoy does that good of a job. This performance along with "The Last King of Scotland" proves that McAvoy has great potential and can be cast in completely different types of roles.

The gist of the movie is that there are some people that have the special ability to control their heartbeats so as to perform tasks that defy the laws of physics. This include making 20 meter jumps, bending bullets and slowing down time. McAvoy plays Wesley a down on his luck guy. His job sucks, his girl friend is cheating with his best friend and he's broke. Angelina Jolie plays a senior assassin who recruits Wesley into faternity of assassins. The boss of the faternity is played by Morgan Freeman. The faternity tells Wesley they want to recruit him as they believe he is the only one who has the potential to kill his father's killer. His father was the faternity's top assassin.

The thing that distinguishes the movie, is that even though it has some over the top action sequences, the movie is actually very funny. The best jokes are done at the time Wesley was working on his ordinary job.

Final word: Highly entertaining and memorable jokes make this movie one of the best this summer.

The idea is fresh. But thinking of it, it's not that fresh. It totally
reminded
me of the movie Shoot'em up. The movie defies the laws of physics and
stuff, but
how many times have we seen a movie's main character dodging bullets
and jumping
through scenes. The fact that these bullets curve didn't add a thing
in my mind.

I saw how the movie tried to be funny, but i somehow didn't find it
so funny.
Lots of people, even around me in the cinema, found it funny. But it
seemed that
they only started laughing after the movie finished. It's like it
was only then
that they remembered how funny the movie was!!!
I though it was an
average
movie, and would give it a 7/10.
